I encourage people to spend any and as much Quality Time as they can with the horse. Every interaction with the horse is an Opportunity for: *Interaction *Observation *Feedback Can you learn without doing an hour ride? Yes Can you refine your communication without mindlessly repeating it for 40-minutes? Yes Can you practice observing and recognizing patterns within either yourself or the horse? Yes Can you have "success" even if you divert from your original intention based on the horse's current mental and emotional state? Yes Learning to let go of mental distractions, past experiences, and self-imposed urgencies allows humans to increase their awareness, believe the horse's subtle communication, and refine their skill-sets affecting their Horsemanship. When you're short on time with the horse, what have you noticed in your own habits, patterns, or thoughts? Any reoccurring themes? How might this influence the Conversation with the horse? All of the above questions will be addressed at The Equine Retreat to help you improve the equine partnership based on trust.

I have been a student of Hatha yoga for 25 years. This form of yoga is not about making your body into a pretzel. Instead it helps you connect the mind, body, and intention with slow, specific movements. My yoga journey is way of connecting and listening to my body, acknowledging without judgement my strengths recognizing its resiliency. The fundamental mindset to build solid foundations in yoga, are the same as those needed in the equine partnership. It is not about the agenda or how much we can do at once, rather it is a journey of awareness, listening, balance, and growth.
